When small companies are just starting to scale, it is often not financially possible to bring on someone with operational expertise full time. Yet, ensuring that the company has the solid operational foundation ready for expansion is critical. Laying the foundation for good governance, processes, and procedures, ability to address risk (and opportunities) and ensure alignment prepares the company for growth, so that leaders can focus on strategy rather than scrambling to ensure the pieces are in place.

Going global, or across town

When companies expand their foot print they often, for obvious reasons, send their best person to set up operations in the new location. Unfortunately, this approach leads to challenges as it means their best person is distracted from her job and given responsibilities that may be outside her skill set. We support expanding companies by stepping in and focus on the expansion effort, from the very tactical developing relationships with local contractors, vendors, creating supply chains, setting up tax and HR functions,  to working with company leadership to determine how this new location ties in to the company - how much autonomy will it have.
