Scale with Structure

About

Partner, Problem Solver, and Pattern Finder

Across nearly one hundred organizations, the details changed. The underlying patterns did not.

How SagaciousThink started

SagaciousThink began with a recurring observation: growing companies often had ambitious strategies but lacked the operational structure needed to execute them consistently.

That gap rarely showed up as one obvious problem. It showed up in the space between strategy, operations, and governance — where responsibility gets blurry and small misalignments compound until they become the story.

SagaciousThink was founded to address that gap directly: for companies at inflection points, whether breaking a downward trajectory or scaling into something larger, who need more than another strategy deck to get there.

Over time, that work became the foundation for SCALE™ — a common architecture for understanding organizations from the perspectives of strategy, operations, and governance.

How the mark evolved

The firm’s original mark, designed in 2013, was a snowflake — eight figures, hands raised, forming a circle. It carried two ideas at once: that the most technically correct solution still lives or dies on the people executing it, and that a snowflake forms from something common — water — while remaining unique every time. Operational challenges are like that. The underlying elements repeat across organizations; how they show up never quite does.

The tagline at the time was Sage ideas, fresh perspective, sustained success — three qualities, held side by side.

Today’s mark is a keystone: three faces — Strategy, Governance, Operations — meeting at a single structural point. The tagline is three words: Scale with Structure. The shift from eight people to three structural faces, and from three qualities to one instruction, reflects where the thinking actually went: people still make the difference, but the mark now names the structural conditions that determine whether they’re able to.

2013 Eight figures, hands raised, forming a circle
The 2013 SagaciousThink lockup: a snowflake of eight figures with hands raised in a circle, beside the wordmark in green and orange, under the tagline ‘sage ideas | fresh perspective | sustained success’.
Today Three faces meeting at a single structural point
Today’s SagaciousThink lockup: the gold keystone mark beside the wordmark, under the tagline ‘Scale with Structure’.
Both lockups in the same treatment. The tagline moved from three qualities to one instruction.

One thing hasn’t changed. The original wordmark split Sagacious and Think by color — green and gold — to hold a duality inside the name itself. Today’s wordmark holds that same duality with typography instead of color. The tension the name has always pointed at — between grounded, sage judgment and forward-looking thinking — never went away. Only the way it’s shown did.

Experienced pattern finder

I started as an operator, not just an advisor, so I get it.

I’ve lived the day-to-day realities my clients face — from the front lines to the C-suite — which means my guidance is grounded in what actually happens inside organizations, not just theory.

Across nearly one hundred companies, spanning industries and continents, the details were never the same. The patterns behind them almost always were. That’s what I help clients see: not another list of findings, but the shape underneath them — the thing quietly driving the outcome, whether anyone’s named it yet or not.

LouAnn Conner

Founder, SagaciousThink

LouAnn Conner has spent her career inside complex systems — engineering them, operating them, improving them, and eventually asking why some hold up under pressure and others don’t.

That question started long before SagaciousThink existed. Managing operations for a NASA satellite system meant understanding how a single point of failure could cascade through an entire mission. Overseeing Teleglobe’s European network buildout meant the same discipline, applied to infrastructure instead of orbit. At Booz Allen Hamilton, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Honeywell, that same question kept surfacing in a different form each time: not just how does this system work, but what happens to it under load, under change, under pressure it wasn’t originally built for.

By 2008, that question had become specific enough to build a firm around. LouAnn founded SagaciousThink to help small and mid-sized businesses close a gap she’d seen repeatedly: real ambition, without the operational and strategic structure to carry it. What began as a boutique firm has since grown to serve global enterprises, including Fortune 100 companies, on strategic planning, business process optimization, post-merger integration, and large-scale transformation — always returning to the same underlying question that started it all.

LouAnn also teaches MBA courses in International Business and Strategy, Managerial Analysis, and Team Dynamics and Entrepreneurship.
